Privacy Policy

1. Who we are

DMV.AI provides software for auto dealers' title, plate and registration work. This policy explains how we handle personal information when you use our websites, portal, AI agent and related services. Dealers are responsible for giving their buyers any notices required by law before sharing buyer information with us.

2. Information we collect

Account and business information: names, email, phone, dealership name, address, licenses, logos and team members.

Deal and vehicle information: VINs, vehicle details, odometer readings, sale prices, taxes, trade-ins, titles, registrations, lien information, and buyer and co-buyer details such as name, address, date of birth, driver license number and images of identity documents, insurance cards and signatures.

Payment information: handled by our payment processor; we receive limited details such as billing status and the last four digits of a card.

Communications: messages, AI agent conversations, voice-mode transcriptions and audio you choose to send, support requests and sales inquiries.

Usage and device information: IP address, browser, pages viewed, and similar data collected through cookies and logs.

3. How we use information

To provide the Services: preparing forms, checking documents, calculating estimates, routing deals to Partner Bureaus, collecting e-signatures, tracking status and answering questions; to process payments; to secure the Services and prevent fraud; to communicate with you; to comply with law, including motor vehicle record laws; and to improve the Services. We do not sell personal information and do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.

4. Motor vehicle records

Personal information from motor vehicle records is used only for purposes permitted by the federal Driver's Privacy Protection Act (18 U.S.C. § 2721 et seq.) and applicable state laws, such as carrying out titling and registration requested by the dealer and buyer.

5. How we share information

With Partner Bureaus and government offices to file your transactions; with service providers who process data for us (cloud hosting, payments, AI model providers, email, VIN decoding, shipping), under confidentiality obligations; with buyers and signers you invite; when required by law, subpoena or to protect rights and safety; and in a merger, acquisition or sale of assets.

6. AI processing

Documents and messages you submit may be processed by third-party AI models to extract fields, check paperwork and answer questions. We do not permit these providers to use your data to train their general models where we have the option to prevent it.

7. Retention

We keep information for as long as your account is active and as needed to provide the Services, meet legal, tax and motor vehicle record-keeping requirements, resolve disputes and enforce agreements, and then delete or de-identify it.

8. Security

We use administrative, technical and physical safeguards such as encryption in transit, access controls and private storage with time-limited links. No system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. Notify us promptly of any suspected breach of your account.

9. Your rights

Depending on where you live (for example California, Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia, Texas and other states), you may have the right to know, access, correct, delete or obtain a copy of your personal information, to opt out of sale, sharing or targeted advertising, and not to be discriminated against for exercising these rights. To make a request, email dealers@dmv.ai. We will verify your identity and respond as the law requires. Authorized agents may submit requests with proof of authority. If we deny your request, you may appeal by replying to our decision.

Where we process buyer information on behalf of a dealer, we may refer requests to that dealer.

10. Children

The Services are not directed to children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information.
